Black Cat Magarita

Happy Halloween all!

This is perfect for Halloween or anytime.


4 - 6 oz. tequila 

Ice

salt (enough to coat glasses)

2 c.  club soda

Purple food coloring 

1 oz. each:  triple sec, agave nectar

1/4 c. each: lime juice, blackberries


Wet rims of glasses with a clean wet napkin.

Sprinkle salt on a clean plate.

Squeeze some purple food coloring on salt, use a clean fork to mix.

Place glasses rim side down to coat glasses, place glasses in freezer to chill for a few minutes. 

While glasses are chilling, place blackberries in bottom of clean cocktail shaker. 

Muddle blackberries with a clean spoon.

Add ice, triple sec, tequila, agave to shaker. 

Put lid on shaker, shake for a few seconds.

Remove glass from freezer, remove lid from shaker.

Strain margarita into glasses, top off with club soda.

Add a couple of blackberries to garnish.

Serves 4.

Parcha Fizz

Need a last minute mocktail for the big game. This is perfect whether you're watching the game, enjoying the halftime show, watching your favorite Olympic events, Galentines Day, Valentines Day or anytime.  2 c.  passion fruit juice 1 - 2 c. sparkling water 1 c. pineapple juice 4 premade chunks pineapple  Ice Place 4 clean glasses in refrigerator to chill for a few minutes. To serve: Put pineapple chunks on 4 toothpick, set aside Remove glasses from fridge.  In the bottom of glasses, place ice.  Pour pineapple juice over ice.   Pour passion fruit juice into glasses.  Top mocktail off with sparkling water. Garnish with pineapple chunk. Serves 4.

Hot Buttered Rum

  Happy National Butter Rum Day all! This is perfect for a Michigan winter or anytime. 4 - 6 oz. dark rum 1/2 - 1 T. each: butter, brown sugar 1 tsp. vanilla extract  2 - 3 c. hot tea Fill tea kettle with cold water and bring water to boil. Turn stove off, very carefully remove lid from kettle and place two tea bags in kettle.  Put lid back on tea kettle and let tea steep for a few minutes. While tea's steeping, spoon some sugar, rum, butter, vanilla extract in the bottom of 4 clean coffee mugs. Pour tea into the cups and stir with a clean spoon. Serves 4.
