Kentucky Mule

You can enjoy this while watching the Kentucky Derby or anytime.

This is my version of the southern classic. 

For the kiddos version, omit bourbon.

1 liter (32 oz. approx.) ginger ale
4 - 6 oz (1/2 c - 3/4 c) bourbon
1 lime
Ice

Cut 1 lime in half, set aside. 32 oz

Place 4 clean glasses in the freezer to chill for a few minutes.

To serve: Remove glasses from freezer and place ice into the glasses. 

Pour some of the bourbon in the bottom of the glass.

Pour ginger ale over bourbon and squeeze some lime into each of the glasses. Stir with a clean spoon to mix.

Serves 4.

Winter Sangria

Happy New Year all! This is perfect for New Years, brunch, girls night or anytime. 1 bottle white wine 2 tangerines 2 c. club soda 1/4 - 1/3 c. sugar 1/4 c. blueberries  Ice Peel, section, tangerines. Rinse blueberries. In the bottom of a clean pitcher, place ice. Add berries, tangerines, sugar. Pour wine over fruit and stir to mix. Place in refrigerator to chill until ready to serve. To serve: Remove sangria from fridge and pour into 4 clean glasses.  Top sangria off with club soda.  Serves 4.

Peppermint Vodka

This is perfect for holiday cocktails, as a gift or anytime. I used 1 piece of candy but you can use 2 candies if needed. 1 - 2 peppermint candies (adjust amount)  4 - 6 oz. vodka In a small clean jar combine ingredients. Put lid on jar, shake to mix, place in refrigerator until ready to use. Serves 4.
