Autumns' Kiss

This is perfect for Friendsgiving get together, holiday get together, game day, after  an  afternoon of yard work, girls night or anytime. 3 c. Pomegranate juice 1 c. water 4 - 6 oz. vodka  pinch dried rosemary 1 - 2 tsp. sugar Ice 2 T. brown sugar Spoon some brown sugar on a clean plate. Wet rims of 4 clean glasses with a clean wet paper towel. Place glasses rim side down to coat rims with brown sugar. Places glasses in freezer to chill for a few minutes. In a clean microwave proof mug, combine sugar,  dried rosemary.  Turn faucet on to run cold water for a few seconds. Fill mug with water and place in microwave to heat up for 60 - 90 sec.  Remove mug very carefully from microwave, stir water with a clean spoon, set it aside to cool for a few minutes. Recipe To Fight Hunger

Normally, I would be posting a beverage recipe for Halloween. As an American, I'm concerned about our neighbors and fellow citizens.  1 in 6 Americans go hungry, have food, beverage insecurity.  Because of the government shutdown many are concerned their SNAP benefits will expire and where their next meal will be coming from. On this site are links to organizations that are working to eradicate hunger.  By getting involved you are helping others. You can also find a local food bank or charity and donate there too. Thank you for being the difference, paying it forward.

Tiger Town Fizz

 Detroit's home of the Tigers. This is perfect for watching the Tigers, the Wolverines or anytime. Go Tigers, sink Seattle! 4 c. orange pop 2 c. pineapple juice Ice 1 T. each: lime juice, sugar, grenadine  blue food coloring With a clean wet napkin, wet rims of 4 clean glasses. Spoon sugar on a clean plate.  Squeeze 2 drops of food coloring in sugar and stir with a clean spoon to mix. Place glasses rim side down on plate to coat rims and place glasses in freezer to chill for a few minutes. To serve: Remove glasses from freezer. Place ice in bottom  Squeeze some lime juice into glasses . Pour pineapple juice over ice.  Pour pop into glasses.  With the back of a clean spoon, drizzle some grenadine into each glass.  Stir with a clean straw.  Serves 4.

Grownup Cider

This is perfect for fall, tailgating or anytime. 3 - 4 c. apple cider 4 - 6 oz. whiskey 4 cinnamon sticks Ice For each glass: Place ice in bottom of glass. Pour whiskey over ice.  Top off with apple cider.  Garnish each glass with cinnamon stick. Serves 4. 

Last Week Of Summer Fizz

The last week of summer's next week in Michigan. This is perfect for a summer afternoon, tailgating  12  blackberries  1/4 c. cucumber  1 tsp. lemon juice 2 tsp. sugar 4 mint leaves 4 c. approx (1 liter bottle) club soda or sparkling water  Ice Place 4 clean glasses in freezer to chill for a few minutes. Rinse blackberries, mint, pat dry mint leaves, set aside. Rinse, cut ends from and chop cucumber. For each drink: Remove glasses from freezer. In the bottom of glass, place some of the sugar, blackberries, some of the cucumber, 1 mint leaf. Squeeze some lemon juice in glasses. With the back of clean spoon, muddle mint leaves, blackberries, cucumber, sugar together. Add ice, top off drink with club soda.  Stir for a few seconds with a clean straw. Serves 4.

Hawaiian Blue

Happy birthday Hawaii! On this date, Hawaii officially became our 50th state.  You don't have to go to Hawaii to enjoy this cocktail. 4 - 6 oz. rum 1/2 c. coconut cream 2 - 3 c. pineapple juice 2 oz. triple sec  Ice  Blue coloring  In a cup combine triple sec and 1 - 2 drops blue food coloring, use a clean spoon or coffee stirrer to mix.  In a blender combine remaining ingredients, triple sec.  Blend  well for 20 - 30 seconds. Pour into glasses.  Serves 4.
